I don’t know what they are celebrating this for. The world wants web services not bloated software on a device. Please hurry up and get all of the Microsoft Office and other stuff online fast.
Make it free or freemium. Run Microsoft Run. Go faster.
and why don’t you give away all your income ? Faster furrier faster…not that fast are you now ?

Microsoft has been milking the office cow for a long time at an expense. Sometimes the best competitive strategy is to ‘eat your own’ to secure new markets. Look at the price that Microsoft is paying to even stay in the game of search.
Microsoft can easily manage the live service as free with price for premium services hence freemium.
When I start a company I don’t give away my money – I use open source.
